Manchester United Poised to Secure German Striker Lea Schüller from Bayern Munich
The Women's Super League club are finalising sealing the deal for prolific German striker Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.
A Marquee Signing for United
Schüller, who has six months remaining on her deal, has been a prolific goalscorer for her club and the national team. She has netted over 100 goals for Bayern and found the net 54 times in 82 caps for her country. Her arrival is viewed as a major coup for the WSL side.
Her exit from Bayern has been anticipated after she was seen holding back emotions while applauding the club's fans following a win over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
It was reported in December that the German women's top flight was losing one of its top forwards. Per multiple sources, all the paperwork for the transfer are now finalised.
Consistent Goal Threat to Boost the Attack
The 28-year-old’s arrival should represent a major uplift to United’s forward line. She has been highly consistent in front of goal in Germany’s top flight.
- Over seven consecutive seasons, including the last term, she reached at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She claimed the Golden Boot in 2021-22 season with 16 goals.

Securing the German international comes at a time when the club appear to be building positive momentum.
